DROPS Cotton Merino is spun from extrafine merino wool and long-staple cotton fiber. We decided not to card the merino wool and cotton together, which emphasizes the properties of both yarns and makes the colors and texture more vibrant. DROPS Cotton Merino is superwash treated and very soft against the skin, making it ideal for baby and children's clothing.

The yarn is spun from many thin threads, which gives it body and elasticity, and it is particularly suitable for cable knits, textured patterns, and seed stitches. Due to the yarn's special construction, it is especially important to treat the garments made from it correctly: Make sure you work with the correct gauge and choose a slightly tighter gauge rather than a looser one. Do not wash the garment with excessively warm water, and it should never become completely saturated with water. Let the garment dry flat.

As with all our Merino yarns, the Merino wool here comes from mulesing-free, free-range animals in South America.

This yarn is Oeko-Tex® certified (certification number 09.HBG.68250), Standard 100, Class I, by the Hohenstein Institute. This means the yarn has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for humans and the environment. Class I is the highest level and means the yarn is suitable for baby items (ages 0-3 years).
