A classic spun yarn in 100% new wool. The untreated wool is only washed and not chemically pre-treated before dyeing. This enhances the wool's best qualities, providing better shape and texture.

DROPS Alaska is a 3-strand quality yarn and one of the classics in the DROPS collection. It is just as popular today as it was when it was launched in the mid-1980s, offering a wide range of colors and many patterns for women, men, children, and accessories.

This yarn has an Oeko-Tex® certification (certificate number 25.3.0099), Standard 100, Class I, from INNOVATEXT TEXTILE ENGINEERING AND TESTING, HUNGARY. This means that the yarn has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for human and ecological use. Class I is the highest level, meaning the yarn is suitable for baby articles (ages 0-3 years).

How to care for this yarn?

Hand wash, max 30°C / Dry flat

First, consider if you can air the garment instead of washing it. If you do need to wash it, here are some care instructions for you:

• Hand wash at 30ºC – separately – with a wool detergent that contains no enzymes or optical brighteners.
• Do not soak the garment. Move it gently back and forth and avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or wringing.
• Rinse the garment until the water is completely clear, making sure the water temperature remains constant.
• Spin the garment lightly (approx. 800 rpm) with a program that does NOT add water at the beginning. Instead of spinning, you can also gently press out the water with a dry towel. The garment should not be wrung or rolled.
• Lay the garment flat to dry, shaping it as it dries – ideally on a warm bathroom floor or on a drying rack in a well-ventilated room. Never dry the garment in direct sunlight.
• Do not tumble dry the garment.
• Never iron the garment directly. Always use a damp cloth between the (steam) iron and the garment.

Please note: If you are washing a project where this yarn is combined with another, as a rule of thumb, follow the care instructions for the more delicate of the yarns used.
